Responsibilities

The Strategic Accounts Manager (SAM) will be responsible for connecting and building trust within their specified respective Strategic Account partners, entities, and associated verticals. 

SAMs will create new connections, develop productive relationships, and grow Strategic Account allies for Newport Healthcare in both the adolescent and young adult behavioral health space. Strategic Accounts are typically specified by more complex, longer-term partnerships that require various resources that may range from infrastructure enhancements and communication protocols to leadership involvement and contracting arrangements.

 

This role  will research, uncover and initiate new professional prospects and business opportunities and have a passion for professional clinical outreach and business development with the goal of increasing the depth and breadth for all of Newport Healthcare’s lines of business. Expand the company’s reach, awareness of Newport’s services, and solidify positive impact in their assigned accounts.

 

The entity-to-entity focus of the SAM will improve access to care for clients from primarily larger employers, various verticals, and professional entities across a range of industries. SAM’s will lead the customer account planning cycle and will work closely with Clinical Outreach team associated leadership to ensure that assigned customers’ needs and expectations are met by Newport Healthcare.  

 

Essential Duties:

  • Operate with the highest level of integrity with assigned accounts to form mutually beneficial partnerships with employer groups, EAP’s, managing entities, etc. and individual decision makers and their correlating clinical professionals with the individualized needs of the client as the primary directive. 
  • Meet and exceed specific, assigned, measurable strategic account sales objectives and activities as assigned in their Incentive Plans and managed by the VP of Clinical Outreach and Chief Growth Officer (CGO) in order to reach more clients in need of Newport Healthcare’s services and grow Newport Healthcare’s reach in the market.   
  • Where appropriate based on collaborative discussions with the VP of Clinical Outreach and the CGO, SAM may be directed to introduce and integrate the local Clinical Outreach Specialist as an additional resource and point of contact for established Strategic Accounts once the account is recognized as a reliable, integrated partner .
  • Collaborate with key facility/ program functions Executive Director, Clinical Director, Medical and Clinical staff, etc. and to support associated referrals and admissions, including specified protocols around individualized needs for documentation and communication for/from these referral sources . 
  • Build and execute the SAM Bi-Annual Business Plan; including strategic account planning that develops and defines mutual performance objectives, financial targets, and critical milestones Responsible for strategically developing and executing monthly, quarterly, and annual performance objectives for their assigned accounts. 
  • Identify entity-specific marketing/admissions barriers in the region and assist in resolving issues to facilitate improved relations with referral sources and improve referral process .
  • Deliver on all travel and business development activity within the designated budget.
  • Provide close collaboration and partnership with relevant Newport Healthcare departments focused upon attainment of sales objectives - examples include Clinical Outreach team, Executive Leadership, Corporate Marketing, Operations, IT, Public Relations, etc.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology, Marketing, Business, Healthcare or closely related field OR minimum 3 years of direct experience in behavioral health setting/ pharmaceuticals sales.
  • Experience with communication principles, practices, and techniques applicable to a healthcare environment.
  • Extensive experience in creating, maintaining and delivering on marketing strategies to meet objectives. 
  • Excellent communication skills with a focus on customer experience.
  • A willingness to travel and work with a national team of professionals is a must.

Range for this position:

$130,000 - $135,000 / year
