Responsibilities

The Tutor I provides supervision of our clients, ensuring their safety, and building a professional rapport with them, including providing assistance to each client during school hours. In addition, the Tutor I will handle individual challenges within the learning environment, setting of limits for behaviors, preparing documentation of the client’s progress, identifying any needs for professional services, and communicating those findings to professional staff.


Essential Duties:

  • Actively work alongside teachers to assist with grading written assignments or teacher scored assessments.
  • Actively monitor and collect data for each client, which includes maintaining an Excel Spreadsheet for academic progress, taking attendance, and assisting with daily check-ins and goal setting forms.
  • Draft weekly progress reports and submit them to the classroom teacher distribution.
  • Input case notes into EMR prior to treatment team meetings.
  • Perform classroom inventory of school supplies, paper, pencils, etc., ensuring adequate supplies necessary for classroom effectiveness.
  • Ensure compliance with all policies and recordkeeping requirements.
  • Remain current and up to date on all trainings (HealthStream, CPR, CPI, etc.) and applicable certifications required to maintain employment with Newport Healthcare.

 

Qualifications

Basic Education and Experience Required:

  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field, preferred. Degree in Mathematics/Science preferred.
  • Prior work experience in behavioral health treatment settings with adolescents preferred.

Compensation range for this position is $18.00 - $25.00 based on education and experience.
