Responsibilities

The Psychodrama Therapist facilitates programming that provides healing through theatre and drama-based techniques that explore the behavior, attitudes and emotions of individuals experiencing physical, psychological, emotional, or mental health issues.

 

 

Essential Duties:

  • Planning and providing appropriate treatment based on clients’ needs.
  • Interact with milieu and encourage participation in sessions.
  • Facilitate individual and group sessions as assigned.
  • Demonstrate practice and techniques and safely guide clients.
  • Address and support inner conflicts through drama processes such as role-play, storytelling, improvisation, and script work.
  • Provide clients with techniques to help express their emotions and integrate the mental and physical sides of life.
  • Facilitate the use of props, equipment, and materials.
  • Communicate with clinicians and direct care staff as needed.
  • Provide weekly progress updates to treatment team as needed.
  • Complete documentation timely and according to established standards.
  • Provide residential milieu support to direct care and clinical staff in
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in clinical discipline or psychodrama/drama therapy preferred.
  • Licensed in counseling, psychology, or social work in the state in which you are applying
  • Board registered Psychodrama/Drama Therapist required (R-DT).
  • Board Certified in Psychodrama/Drama therapy preferred (BC-DT).
  • Experience working with young adults/adolescents in a behavioral health setting
